Lamborghini Newport Beach and SunGreen worked together to have their new dealership in Irvine be solar powered.  Given this high profile client, we needed to make sure our carports weren't any normal carports, and we had just the partners that could deliver this for us. 

Sunpower's solar panels were an obvious choice of pairing quality with quality.   Kern Solar Structures previous projects showed us that they had a different type of carport for us.  With some slick black steel holding up Sunpower panels, we feel this project shows the true potential solar has in being complementary to the building design.  

The solar consists of 85 kW of solar on the roof and 170 kW on carports.  This is the first auto dealership to go solar in the Irvine Auto Center.  The dealer benefits from having a green image, but it's also provided shaded parking for potential customers and their inventory. Not to mention the lower operating costs with their electric bills. We were able to install this entire system with minimal disruption to the business's day to day activities, as can be seen in our video below, there is a lot of activity going on.  The dealership still has a few expansion projects they are working on before construction will be totally finished.  In the meantime, they are still open and have many beautiful cars on display.  This might be the first car dealership to go solar in the area, but it won't be the last.
